Muara Takus Temple


Vacation Star | Muara Takus Temple | Muara Takus Temple is one of very important heritage. The temple is located in District XIII Koto Kampar which is about 118 km from Pekanbaru is made of river stone, sand and bricks.

 

Muara Takus Temple was built between the 4th century, to 7, to 9. Until now, no one historians was sure when actually built this temple. The temple, measuring 7 x 7 meters. This temple complex is surrounded by a wall measuring 74 x 74 meters, and on the ground outside the wall there is a 1.5 x 1.5 km. In the complex, found also building the Tua Temple, Bungsu Temple, Mahligai Setupa, and Palangka.  
 

Muara Takus Temple is similar to the Temple Acoka in India, is a relic of past history proves that in this area was once the development is the arrival of Buddhism from India. In addition, although the historians do not agree, but some of them say that this temple is a clear evidence that the Kingdom of Sriwijaya ever existed here.
