Building Center of Cultural Sawahlunto


Vacation Star | Building Center of Cultural Sawahlunto | This building was built in 1910 and named "Gluck Auf". Formerly used as a hall and banquet or party by the Dutch colonial officials.

 

This building was once a Ball House that is used as a place to play bowling, community building where colonial officials held a meeting and party of mine officials with the Dutch ladies after work. Afternoon until the evening they amuse themselves, by spending time and money, drinking, dancing in the Ball House. Entertainment, the days long delay to their relatives in the land of Windmills.


After independence the building was used as a Building Society Meeting or Gedung Pertemuan Masyarakat (GPM), then became the office of Bank Dagang Negara (BDN) and also once occupied by Mandiri Bank through 2005. 


After revitalization, on December 1, 2006, the building was re-enabled as the Building Center of Cultural Sawahlunto. This building is located at the center of Sawahlunto, Pasar village.
